After great feedback last year, the Photographers’ Place will be holding another workshop at Ilam Hall, near Ashbourne, Derbyshire from May 6-8th 2011. It begins on the Friday evening, 6th May, through until late afternoon on Sunday, 8th May. Fees: £325 including all tuition and 2 nights full board
To secure a place on the Ilam workshop you must book in the next SEVEN days. This is important so we can finalise our accommodation bookings.
Over the past few workshops we have had a few requests to cover some specific areas. If there is enough demand we will add the following sessions.
After showing his work ‘Sacred Stones’ a few people have said, that they would like to learn how to light landscapes at night. So we have included a practical session in the program, on the Saturday evening. Bring along your flash guns if you have them.
With modern cameras having the ability to shoot video, Martin will be presenting a session that covers all of the basics, including:
- Video formats and codecs.
- Setting up your DSLR for shooting video.
- Using tripods and sliders.
- Recording sound.
- A basic look at editing.
Paul will again be performing his greatest hits. Including a session that looks at his latest publication, Corridor of Uncertainty, From initial concepts to publication.
He will also be delivering a rendition of ‘I did it my way’ in the club style!
THE PRACTICALITIES; FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION
The weekend is based at Ilam Hall, a converted 19th century mansion, a few miles from Ashbourne and near Dovedale in the Derbyshire Peak District. Refurbished in 2009, Ilam is a four star Youth Hostel which now offers an excellent standard of accommodation with a range of smaller shared rooms and good bathroom facilities ensuite.
There is a brand new café and bar where we will have our evening meals. Packed lunches will be provided. We will be in a large seminar room where we will be able to download pictures and digitally project images for discussion.
Please let us know on the booking form what type of accommodation you would prefer; there are twin bedded and shared four bedrooms. We will do our best to accommodate your preference.
There are several B and Bs and hotels locally for those who do not choose to overnight at Ilam Hall. Let us know and we can give more details.
If you have any special dietary or other requirements, please let us know on the booking form.
